As the first son of the Leader of the Blue Moon Pack, Sangyeob knew from a young age that much was expected of him. Those responsibilities lay heavily on his shoulders, always on his mind. His parents, though loving and supportive, gave him a taste of running the Pack from that tender age, giving him all kinds of intense responsibilities.With tiny, grasping hands, even as a child, Sangyeob learned. He learned how to provide medical aid to the dying and injured. He learned how to help bring a newborn pup into the world and cut his first umbilical cord at nine. He cared for his younger siblings, feeding, bathing, and caring for them as though he were a third parent. He balanced Pack funds, learning to keep track of money and budget to keep everyone fed and safe year-round.It was exhausting and, in many ways, robbed him of the childhood that other members of the Pack got. Even his own siblings lived freely, running wild in the fields all day outside of class hours. It seemed unfair to him, but Sangyeob had learned not to complain. A leader was responsible; the pillar and strength of the Pack. They did not bellyache or whine.It was only as he approached his hundredth birthday that Sangyeob began to wonder what else lay outside the walls of their Pack compound. Since childhood, he'd treasured, above all other things, an old radio. At night, as he lay in his bed, waiting for sleep, Sangyeob would listen to that radio. He absorbed the music coming through, getting lost in it. It painted for him pictures of a new world... a world different, and yet similar, to his own.It was initially his looks that got Sangyeob scouted by a talent agent of Blacklist Labels. Flattering as it was to be approached purely for his face, it was the allure of music that led him to audition. Although he had no formal training, Sangyeob had a passion that radiated from him. He was pitchy, his dancing was embarrassing, and his stage presence non-existent... but the manager watching over the auditions saw a spark in him. Saw the potential for more.She signed him on the spot, and for the first time in his life, Sangyeob lied to his parents and his Pack. He didn't tell them he was training to be an idol. Didn't admit that the great job he begged to leave the compound for was everything the Pack stood against. His father might disown him simply for the shame of it.They rejected modern technology in his Pack, holding onto the ancient ways and beliefs. There was only one TV in the compound, and it was used to occasionally play old movies for the kids. There was no music, no such thing as Kpop idols.As he trained, Sangyeob began to prove his worth as a Rapper and Producer, surprising many of his trainers with the speed of his improvements. Although he never quite grasped dancing, his transition from idol to rapper saved him from the potential of being placed in a boy group, where he would have needed the skill.Though he'd started out thinking he'd be a singer and love it... It was producing music that really stole his heart. Under the pseudonym "Wren," Sangyeob began writing music for other artists, both within and outside Blacklist Labels. As an Idol and Producer, Wren soon became a household name, famous in all corners of South Korea.Still, reality is always haunting his shadowed steps, and Sangyeob knows he can't live his Idol life forever. One day, he will have to take over the Pack as the rightful Leader and put his dreams and heart away forever. Yet for now... he holds onto the dream, living as Wren on the outside.
